On August 26, 2022 CODA awarded an inaugural perpetual trophy in the name of Henrik Moberg-Parker. This trophy is bestowed annually for leadership initiatives resulting in growth and development of the opti class in Canada. Recipients can be clubs, groups, sailors or coaches who have put extra effort into the recruitment, support and encouragement of our youngest sailors, resulting in the expansion of the fleet and the delight that our sailors have for the sport.
2023 Nominations will be open until the first racing day of the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Championships. Submissions may be made in writing via email to [email protected] prior to that date. Nominations should include a name and explanation as to why the nominee has helped the growth, development and encouragement of green and white fleet optimist sailors in Canada.
Henrik loved learning, connecting with people, and succeeding while having fun. He worked and volunteered his time training children to sail and endeavored to be a role model to all. Henrik was kind and inclusive and went out of his way to get to know his fellow sailors.
The nomination committee will be chaired by the CODA Class Development Officer, and include one past board member.
Please submit nominations prior to August 21, 2023 to [email protected].
